Endless Metals

Endless is a scrap metal recycling company that has been operating for over four years. They currently have two sites in Auckland and serve a range of customers, from residential and trade to commercial, building, demolition, waste management and auto wreckers. They process the scrap metal on their site and export it to various countries for processing and repurposing.

The Challenge:

Endless exploded onto the market and were much busier than expected. In the time they’ve been operating they’ve had challenges to face such as the implications of Covid, and operating during lockdowns (as we all have). More recently bedding in new HR and payroll software has been a factor with a longer than expected handover time, and slow response from the third party app team. Managing payroll and HR of a team of up to 50 staff across two sites is challenging at the best of times so they really needed a strong payroll partner.

Endless wanted to focus on their core expertise and knew they had to outsource their Payroll systems. Yasmin Patel, Software & Payroll Consultant from the Top Flight team is the direct contact for Lesa Cheesman at Endless. Working together initially with iPayroll, they streamlined the payroll system – from implementing a timekeeping app and doing away with paper timesheets to using Google Sheets as the one source of truth for payroll status and keynotes. Recently the Endless payroll has moved to a new system which proved to have some teething issues. Top Flight has worked alongside Endless to ensure problems were sorted quickly, and have suggested clever workaround solutions. At times Yasmin has been able to solve the issue herself well ahead of the external software team.
